Making a Difference

Education is recognized as one of the keys to fighting poverty, but despite the awareness of that fact, many families in Uganda are facing poverty, which forces families to put children to work or into other situations because they cannot afford to keep them at home and in school. In addition, some social customs deny education to girls, and children who are orphaned are almost always placed in situations that reduce their chances for education. Addressing education at grassroots level is more critical to the long term sustainability of a socioeconomic change.

The major cause of all the challenges and inabilities among several children in Uganda to have access to neither education nor quality education is based on the following reasons:

· Poor educational facilities (Schools) that bring less inspiration for study among children.

· Lack of scholastic materials for the children making it hard for them to attend school.

· Poverty among families those aren’t able to afford school fees and materials for their children.

· Insufficient school materials for the teachers and the school administrators in order to provide these services to communities.

With all these challenges, Light the Future Foundation is working in hand with everyone towards changing this by attending to these needs around the country.

LIFFO has full potential & impact in main streaming of helpless and vulnerable children. Their basic needs are met & they get new life through gaining education, talents and skills development among them, plus giving them a new life by loving them, attending their needs and developing them mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially.

LIFFO currently fosters between 100 - 200 children at Lwamata central primary school. These children are attended with full time support at the school with motivated and working volunteers that ensure these children are provided with everything.

We are working hard each day to extend our support to different communities around Uganda by consulting and soliciting possible financial aid from several sources, including looking for donors, grants and partnerships with other projects & businesses.

LIFFO provides basic aid to different disadvantaged and less fortunate children around the country. The Foundation provides these children with roof over heads at school centers, proper feeding, health care and all basic life necessities of building a proper citizen.

The problem of less fortunate (vulnerable and helpless) children is acute due to several traditional and modern concerns in rural areas. Severe Deaths of HIV AIDS affected persons, Re-marriage of widowed/ Divorce women, Absence of love and security, unwanted pregnancy of sexually exploited girls; these dear children are left without care and support hence having their lives and time involved in insecure, criminal and no development activities when still at young age. In these areas, there are a lot of helpless children who neither have their parents but have ability of changing their lives and other children’s lives in their communities through education. The foundation provides a safe home at our school centers for all these children as they pursue with their education plus growing to be responsible citizens.
